Preformed tune up on 2 xv gas systems, both units are running within manufacturer specifications. I dialed in refrigerant as is was on the low side of acceptable. I brought the unit from 7 degrees of sub cooling to 10. And the other was closer to 11. Both had a healthy TD. Recommend adding surge protection to furnace and also getting on a maintenance plan so we can keep labor warranties in tact. Homeowner told me to go ahead with maintenance. Unit running at departure

Arrived to home and preformed maintenance on gas split. Unit appears to be in good running order but I did find some items that we should address. The capacitor is borderline and we should replace it. The unit would benefit from a end rush device to help maintain a healthy compressor and the unit has no condensation safety switch which is good to have and save a lot of headache down the road. I signed them up on maintenance plan as well. They have a energy addit soon and wants to get all info and will make decisions. Unit running at departure.

Arrived to home and found unit had a bad cap, replaced cap and unit running at departure with a 20 degree TD recommended to start assist, and maintenance program will leave estimates.

Arrived to home and customer had a couple other companies out that told them different information. One company said the compressor was bad and the other said the zone board was bad. The customer bought his own zone board and is going to install it. The unit was working correctly while I was there, so I could not tell him whether or not the zone board was bad. However, the refrigerant was, a little bit low added 1 pound of refrigerant to dial it in to 9° of subcooling and installed a in rush device. Unit running at departure with a 20° temperature differential. The pressure temperature chart on the back panel says sub cooling should be within 4 to 9°.

This was the home warranty call that was approved by Alex and Elena. When I arrived, I found I had no temperature differential and unit was low on refrigerant. I could not find any evidence of oil at the condenser and opened up case coil, and could not feel any oil in water and condensation pan. Explain to customer that that we should probably return and put dye in the system. Customer agreed to this. I added 3 pounds of refrigerant and got the unit cooling with a 20° temperature differential will have Office call to schedule for me to return and inject dye unit running at departure. Return the following day and injected die told customer to call us if it slows in performance or six weeks or so pass so we give it enough time to work its way out of the system and that we can find it. At that point, we will fix leak or order the coil that is necessary you’re not running at departure.
